WM Building Services were appointed to undertake the design development and installation of the mechanical and plumbing services at Beckton House, located in Beeston, Nottingham. The development comprises purpose-built student accommodation, providing modern living spaces supported by efficient and sustainable building services.
The mechanical installation included a Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV) system serving the apartments to provide continuous ventilation throughout the accommodation. Space heating is provided via low temperature hot water radiators served by air source heat pump technology, which also generates domestic hot water, delivering an energy efficient solution for the building.
In addition to the heating and ventilation installation, WM Building Services delivered the above ground drainage systems, domestic hot and cold water services, sanitaryware installations and associated public health services throughout the scheme. The project also incorporated a Building Management System (BMS) to monitor and control the mechanical services, ensuring efficient operation and long-term performance of the building systems.
